The Chef de Cuisine is the hands-on culinary leader of Bar Oliver, responsible for guiding an established kitchen team while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, execution, and professionalism. This role leads by example, ensures consistency across all services, and protects the integrity of a well-built culinary system already in place.
This position requires strong business acumen, including tight control of food and labor costs, disciplined ordering and inventory practices, and ongoing maintenance of recipe bibles, prep systems, and other core organizational tools that support efficient, profitable kitchen operations.
Consistent presence, clear leadership, accountability, and operational rigor are essential.
Preferred Experience Experience in Spanish cooking—particularly coastal Spanish cuisine—is strongly preferred. Regardless of prior experience, a genuine passion for Spanish food and culture, or a demonstrated strong interest in learning and working within this cuisine, is essential.
