Role Description The Cardiology APRN is a full-time, on-site role based in Hopkinsville, KY, providing advanced practice cardiovascular care to adult patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing comprehensive cardiac assessments, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, developing and adjusting evidence-based treatment plans, and collaborating closely with cardiologists and multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications
- Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in Kentucky, with national certification as an Acute Care or Family Nurse Practitioner, or eligibility to obtain prior to start date.
- Demonstrated clinical competence in cardiology or internal medicine, including experience managing heart failure, ischemic heart disease, arrhythmias, and other cardiovascular conditions.
- Strong patient assessment and diagnostic skills, with proficiency in interpreting ECGs, cardiac imaging reports, and relevant laboratory data.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, patients, and families in a team-based care environment.
- Ability to provide clear patient education, promote preventative cardiology measures, and support shared decision-making in treatment planning.
- Comfort with electronic health records and clinical documentation, with attention to detail and regulatory compliance.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice, continuous learning, and participation in quality and performance improvement activities.
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program; prior cardiology or critical care experience preferred.
