Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Music, Music Education, or a related field.Ability to obtain a valid Colorado teaching license.Proficiency in piano accompaniment and vocal instruction.

Position Overview
The High School Choir Teacher / Accompanist is responsible for developing and leading a comprehensive choral music program that fosters students' vocal technique, musicality, and performance skills. This position creates a structured, engaging, and inclusive environment where students grow as musicians and performers while aligning with PBIS, CKH, and restorative practices. The role includes directing choirs, accompanying rehearsals and performances, and coordinating school music events.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Rehearsal Design
Develop and deliver engaging choral instruction aligned to music standards.Teach vocal technique, music literacy, sight-reading, and ensemble performance skills.Select appropriate and diverse choral repertoire.Plan and lead daily rehearsals that build individual and ensemble performance quality.Differentiate instruction to meet varied skill levels and experience.
Performance & Program Development
Plan, organize, and direct concerts, performances, and school events.Prepare students for performances, festivals, and potential competitions.Accompany choirs, ensembles, and soloists during rehearsals and performances.Support development of a strong, sustainable choral program and culture.
Assessment & Feedback
Assess student progress in vocal technique, musical understanding, and performance.Provide timely, constructive feedback to support student growth.Use assessment data to guide instruction and improve performance outcomes.
Classroom Culture & Management
Establish clear expectations, routines, and rehearsal procedures.Maintain a focused, respectful, and collaborative ensemble environment.Reinforce PBIS expectations consistently.
CKH & Relationship Building
Build strong relationships that foster trust, teamwork, and student engagement.Encourage student confidence, collaboration, and artistic expression.
Restorative Practices
Address behavior through reflective and restorative approaches that support student growth.
Collaboration
Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and fine arts collaboration.Work with staff to support school-wide events and interdisciplinary opportunities.Collaborate with administration on program development and student opportunities.
Operational Support
Manage music inventory, equipment, and performance materials.Coordinate logistics for performances, including scheduling and communication.Support school events, supervision duties, and testing as needed.
