Required Qualifications
Banning Lewis Ranch Academy (BLRA) is seeking a highly skilled Math Intervention Teacher passionate about ensuring every student becomes a strong, confident reader.
BLRA is a K-5 charter school serving over 700 students in northeast Colorado Springs and is part of a K-12 system that includes Banning Lewis Preparatory Academy (grades 6-12). Our school community values relationships first, high academic expectations, and developing citizens of character.
Our student population includes diverse learners, including students with individualized education plans, English language learners, gifted learners, and a large military-connected population. The Reading Intervention Teacher plays a critical role in supporting students who require targeted, intensive reading instruction, while collaborating closely with classroom teachers to ensure strong Tier 1 instruction and effective Tier 2/Tier 3 supports.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong expertise in research-based mathematical instruction, a deep understanding of the conceptual, procedural, and application-based aspects of a student's math standard mastery, along with a commitment to a collaborative approach that uses data to drive instruction and accelerate student growth.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Education or Mathematics
- Valid Colorado Teaching License, or willingness and ability to obtain
- 3-5 years of successful classroom teaching experience
- Demonstrated success teaching mathematics using evidence-based instructional practices
- Experience using student data to guide instruction and intervention
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Must successfully complete a background check
- Experience supporting students identified with skill gaps of wide variety
- Experience writing, implementing, and goal tracking MTSS Plans
- Experience working within an MTSS framework
- Experience using Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycles to refine intervention groups
- Experience supporting Tier 2 and Tier 3 reading intervention
- Demonstrated success in identifying and accelerating math growth for struggling students
- Experience implementing, teaching, and supplementing with Eureka Math² curriculum or similar
- Strong understanding of the mathematical shifts and Standards for Mathematical Practice
- Experience in analyzing math assessment and diagnostic data, including:
- Curriculum-Based Measures
- STAR Math
- Acadience/Amplify MATH
- Experience supporting Tier 2 and Tier 3 math interventions
- Demonstrated success in accelerating math growth for struggling learners
- Experience supporting small group math intervention models

- Provide targeted small group math intervention for students requiring additional support
- Screen for, assess, and deliver explicit structured math instruction aligned to identified skill gaps
- Analyze assessment data to identify student needs and design intervention plans
- Progress monitor students regularly and adjust instruction based on results
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to align instruction and support student growth
- Provide training and ongoing support for classroom teachers related to diagnostic and progress monitoring data protocols
- Participate in MTSS meetings and intervention planning
- Maintain documentation of student progress and intervention outcomes, including writing and updating MTSS plans
- Communicate with classroom teachers and families regarding student reading progress when appropriate
- Support schoolwide math initiatives and growth goals, including coordinating assessment day
- Maintain intervention materials and instructional resources
