OVERVIEW:
The Junior Commercial Lender is responsible for managing and servicing a portfolio of loans assigned by the bank. While working as a team, the ideal candidate would be someone who takes ownership, works well independently, and is willing to take initiative. Provide analytical and credit oversight and ensures that the overall portfolio performance and quality remains strong, actively communicates issues with EVP SLO / Team Leader and works with customers directly on the resolution of issues. The Junior Commercial Lender shall interact regularly with the credit department and commercial loan assistants to provide the highest level of service and structure solutions that are consistent with and supportive of the Bank’s credit standards. Shall cross-sell deposit and cash management products and generate referrals for retail products. Ensure compliance with credit policies and procedures and manage the assigned portfolios according to established standards. Actively participate in community organizations as a Bank representative.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Management of Assigned Portfolios- Shall maintain portfolios to the expected standards, including addressing all maturing loans, completing annual reviews, addressing any and all documentation and financial reporting exceptions. Shall ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, loan policies and procedures.
- Customer Service- Delivers consistently superior service to customers.
- Risk Management and Underwriting:
- Works closely with the customer, commercial lender, credit department and administrative staff in handling customer requests, fixed asset line of credit draw request, renewals, covenant testing, construction loan monitoring and servicing of customer relationships.
- Analyzes loan applicants to determine feasibility of granting loan. Work with the clients to negotiates terms, prepare opportunity memos, prepares loan proposal, underwrites, and obtains approval; all while conferring with EVP SLO / Team Leader and the credit department.
- Works with credit on loan presentation, clearly identifies credit risks and any policy exceptions. Assures timely presentations, loan commitments, loan closings and funding activities.
- Assumes responsibility with and under the direction of the EVP SLO / Team Leader for the management of loan and deposit relationships. Collects required financial information and maintains comprehensive and current credit files and comments. Assigns and periodically reviews loan risk ratings.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or related field
- A minimum of two years’ experience in commercial lending previously, preferably involving credit training
- Strong understanding of Business Banking loans
- Strong proven financial, analytical, and mathematical skills
- Excellent credit skills in underwriting, financial modeling, valuations and adherence to policy
- Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- High-energy, result-oriented and works well in a team environment
- Strong organization skills

Salary : $80,000 - $90,000
