The Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Intake Specialist to join our team. In this vital role, you will oversee and support the intake and admissions process for individuals entering our Crisis Residential Unit (CRU) and Detox/Withdrawal Management programs. The Intake Specialist ensures a smooth transition for clients into care while upholding the highest standards of professionalism, empathy, and confidentiality.
What You’ll Do
- Oversees referral process for CRU and Detox/withdrawal maintenance units.
- Provide support to residential counselors (both Detox and CRU) and is responsible for admissions to both units during their shift.
- Screens and coordinates intake over the phone with potential clients, care partners and medical professionals. Understands limitations in scope of role, involves medical and clinical staff, and other providers as appropriate and required.
- Completes registration and associated intake documentation of individuals entering care, utilizing Credible, electronic medical record, and verifying insurance status
- Prepares and submits initial and concurrent authorizations to third party payors and/or insurers for applicable patient billing
- Instructs and assists clients in preparation for specific lab tests, obtains informed consent, release of information, authorization, and collects and processes routine laboratory specimens (for Detox clients).
- Act as a liaison as assigned and appropriate for internal and external stakeholders, maintaining positive relationships.
- Demonstrate adherence to company policies and expectations and behavioral competencies, both explicit and implicit.
- Responsible for running psychoeducational groups All tasks, projects, and/or duties as assigned and authorized, as determined by Direct Supervisor and Clinical Director (or designated delegate) to be congruent with the role.
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma: associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
Experience: Minimum of 2 years working with individuals in the public health system is preferable.
