Essential Functions
- Provide oversight of the daily operations and implementation of the summer learning instructional program to ensure that all students have access to a rigorous and relevant learning experience.
- Monitors student attendance data, prepares district reports that summarize student achievement data, evaluate student progress, conducts weekly meetings/training with staff and monitors the overall operation of the program.
- Attend required training and meetings as directed by the Office of Teaching and Learning.
- Work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operation of the assignment summer site including teaching and learning, food and nutrition, transportation, student support and safety, and communications.
- Respond to inquiries/complaints from parents and the community in a timely and professional manner with consultation from the Office of Teaching and Learning.
- Provide direct supervision and oversight of all site based staff.
- Models and requires that all staff engage in practices that promote high performance, ethical behavior, collegiality and teamwork.
- Creates and sustains a positive learning environment for students and staff.
- Submit verbal and written reports as required.
- Track staff attendance and report concerns to Ed. Specialist.
- Step in as the instructor in situations where staff are unavailable.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Maintains confidential and sensitive information.
- Performs and promotes all activities in compliance with equal employment and non-discrimination policies; follows federal laws, state laws, school board policies, administrative regulations, and professional standards.
- Demonstrated interest in preparing engineers and in robotics programs.
- Proficient in the use of technical computer applications, including Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively with school personnel and students
- Ability to respond to emergency situation while maintaining composure and demonstrating appropriate professionalism and restraint at all times
- Employee of Baltimore City Public Schools for the 2025-2026 school year, with the intention to remain an employee for the 2026-2027 school year.
- Holds unexpired MSDE educator licensure/ certification.
- Possession of all appropriate licenses, certificates, and contracts for the 2026-2027 school year (non-renewals, expiring certifications or licenses, separations including retirees will not be considered for summer school employment).
- Acceptable annual rating by school principal/administrator
