If you thrive on diagnosing tough faults and locking in reliability, this role puts you at the center of plant performance—balancing PM precision with fast, safe recoveries under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager or Senior Maintenance Technician.
What you will take on
- Preventive maintenance on high‑value production assets to prevent failures and extend equipment life.
- Troubleshooting and repairs across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and power‑transmission systems.
- Breakdown response, changeovers, and benchwork (rebuilds, deep cleans, operational checks).
- Work from manuals, technical specifications, shop drawings, and electrical schematics.
- Seasonal maintenance and facility equipment checks, including occasional non‑standard hours.
How you will work safely
- Adhere to safety rules, procedures, and PPE requirements without exception.
- Operate material‑handling equipment: pallet jacks, lift trucks, jib/gantry cranes, and man lifts.
- Use hand and power tools correctly; maintain a tidy, hazard‑free work area.
- Complete inspections, documentation, and in‑process quality checks.
Collaboration that multiplies outcomes
- Provide clear status updates to the Maintenance Manager, Senior Maintenance Technician, production teams, and the Shift Manager.
- Mentor junior mechanics as a knowledge resource and safety model.
- Align with maintenance and production partners to hit daily priorities and project milestones.
Continuous improvement & sustainability
- Apply 5S and basic LEAN principles to eliminate waste and improve flow.
- Champion sustainability efforts to reduce energy usage and material waste.
- Document after‑action learnings; update procedures and maintenance records.
- Monitor and restock parts, tools, and consumables as needed.
Facilities extras
- Light facility maintenance: painting, drywall, and basic plumbing repairs.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years in mechanical maintenance or related industrial mechanical work (required).
- Experience with fabrication tech—lasers, press brakes, thermoforming, robotics—preferred but not required.
- Strong electro‑mechanical troubleshooting capability.
- Read schematics/wiring diagrams; proficient with a digital multimeter (DMM).
- Comfort with fractional/decimal math and digital documentation tools.
- Adaptable, calm under pressure, and a clear communicator.
Working conditions
- Standing/walking up to 90% of the shift.
- Frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching; able to lift 50 lbs.
- Work at ground level, heights, and in confined spaces.
- Manufacturing noise, temperature swings, and occasional outdoor exposure.
- May work any shift; regular overtime, including weekends, is expected.
