Company Description: Baisch & Skinner is a wholesale floral distributor based in St. Louis, MO with six branch store locations throughout the Midwest. Importers of fresh cut flowers, plants, permanent botanicals, decoratives, glassware, and floral supplies, Baisch & Skinner is a business-to-business distributor that serves the floral, design, and hospitality industries.
Responsibilities:
· Research discrepancies and debit memos to accurately process, issue, and post credits/debits to customer accounts as necessary.
· Maintains all records and files and backup documentation related to accounts receivable.
· Reviews an aging report on a weekly basis
· Initiates, tracks, and maintains all record/files associated with collection activities for each account to include negotiated payment schedules, telephone call documentation and collection letters.
· Ensure company adherence to corporate credit policies and procedures for consistent handling of collection matters to maintain good customer relations.
· Maintains accurate customer information in database according to company procedures.
· Research credit applications, notifies customers of approval/disapproval status and documents pertinent credit information in accordance with company procedures.
· Creates and maintains proper response letters on computer for various incoming correspondence.
· Collaborates as required with outside legal counsel to resolve credit disputes and collection efforts.
· Communicate any issues with the appropriate Salesperson or Branch Manager
· Occasionally acts as backup or supports other positions within a small office environment.
· Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Associate degree in Business or Bookkeeping and/or at least two years of hands-on industry experience
· Knowledge of office administration and bookkeeping procedures
· Detail-oriented, with a mathematical aptitude.
· Strong typing and computer skills required including knowledge of Microsoft Windows, advanced level proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook.
· Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information
· Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential for professional phone and personal contacts
· Demonstrated customer service focus, with professional demeanor and appearance
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
· Ability to work in a team environment
· Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate heavy work volume
Job Type: Full-time
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
