Position Title: Accounting Specialist
Reports To: Accounting Manager
Location: 65500 Lincoln Street, Mecca, CA
Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to support key accounting and operational functions, including cash receipts, credit card reconciliations, accounts payable, and agricultural reporting. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial recordkeeping, supporting harvest and assessment reporting, and coordinating documentation for warehouse receipts and grower-related transactions. The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, and capable of managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Invoicing
- Prepare and issue customer invoices, including leased land and farm management billing
- Ensure invoices are properly coded, approved, and entered in a timely manner
- Maintain organized records of all invoicing documentation
Accounts Receivable (A/R)
- Process and record daily cash receipts in the accounting system
- Verify deposit information and maintain proper documentation
- Reconcile receipts with supporting records to ensure accuracy
Accounts Payable (A/P) & Credit Cards
- Review credit card statements and verify supporting receipts
- Ensure transactions are accurately coded and vouchered
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies with employees and vendors
- Voucher hauling invoices and grower advances
Harvest & Grower Reporting
- Assist in preparing and processing harvest reports
- Track and document grower assessments and related activities
- Maintain accurate agricultural reporting records
Warehouse & Receiving Documentation
- Process receiving tickets for third-party warehouses
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure accurate and complete documentation
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
- 1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, data organization, and reconciliation support
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.
- Ability to occasionally stand, walk, bend, or reach while retrieving files or documentation.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry items such as files, boxes of documents, or office supplies weighing up to approximately 20 pounds.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial documents and computer screens.
- Ability to communicate clearly with team members, vendors, and growers in person, by phone, and via email.
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
