Job Description
As a Network Admin II here at BAE Systems, this role provides operational oversight for all of the company's network in the Enterprise Operations Center. The Network Admin II is responsible for the availability of all production networks through enterprise monitoring along with service request fulfillment and incident resolution. This role also acts as a network related single point of contact for all high priority network related production outages. This position is part of a 24x7 Enterprise Operations Center environment. Shift and workday flexibility is required.
The ideal candidate for this position is an intermediate level network admin in supporting a highly complex, diverse and geographically dispersed network environment. The environment is different network based devices in a production environment, while also supporting new devices and development environments. Ideal candidate will have at least two years experience with large scale networking, WAN, LAN, and device authentication.
Position Responsibilities:
- Single point of contact for the Enterprise Operations Center for networking related issues
- Provides networking support for all IT related Major Incident calls and assists to service restoration
- Monitoring response of all network devices in the Enterprise
- Fulfill service requests and resolve incident tickets to maintain BAE SYSTEMS’s global IT infrastructure availability
- Manage network operations, dispatch and user services, including troubleshooting, network vendor relationships, and network vendor management
- Ensure smooth operation of networks in all functional areas and ensure any issues are resolved quickly and efficiently
- Advanced knowledge of network technologies (Routers, Switches, VOIP, Packet Captures) required
- Experience with Network and Systems monitoring tools
- Ability to interact with business users and other IT professionals
- Proven ability to document and maintain stringent change management controls over the IT environment
- Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills, team-building skills, as well solid presentation skills
- Technical documentation skills
- Has a get-it-done attitude
- Combines technical knowledge with calm and approachable demeanor
- Experience working with carriers, LECs
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelors Degree
Two years experience as a Network Administrator with large scale network environments
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
CCNA Preferred
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $70735 - $120250
