Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation, including chopping, assembling, and plating dishes with precision and care
- Support cooking activities by following recipes and safety guidelines to ensure quality and consistency
- Handle food safely by practicing proper food handling techniques and adhering to hygiene standards
- Perform manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting of ingredients, equipment, and supplies using safe lifting practices
- Support restaurant operations by bussing tables, clearing dishes, and maintaining cleanliness in the dining area
- Operate POS systems for serving customers efficiently
- Contribute to banquet setups and catering events, ensuring timely and professional service delivery
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments with a strong understanding of kitchen operations
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining good manual handling practices
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork and guest interactions
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment, cooking techniques, and culinary processes
- Experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is preferred
- Previous hotel or hospitality experience is advantageous but not required
- Strong customer service orientation with a positive attitude and attention to detail
