Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant General Manager to join our hospitality team. This leadership role involves overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and supporting staff development within a fast-paced restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, culinary knowledge, and a passion for delivering memorable dining experiences across casual settings. Position Objective
Support the General Manager in leading the restaurant to operational excellence by executing brand standards, developing teams, and delivering consistent guest experiences. The Assistant General Manager plays a critical leadership role in day-to-day operations while preparing to step into full General Manager responsibility.
The ideal AGM is a hands-on, people-first leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, develops strong leadership teams, and treats their restaurant like their own business.
Position Accountabilities
Assistant General Managers are directly accountable for supporting results in these core areas:
- Guest Experience: Consistently deliver exceptional guest experiences and achieve strong guest satisfaction.
- Operational Execution: Ensure daily execution of food quality, service, cleanliness, and safety standards across FPH and BOH.
- Hiring and Training: Support hiring, training, and development of team members while building future leaders and reinforcing company culture.
Key Responsibilities (in addition to Position Accountabilities):
- Lead with passion, presence, and accountability. Model energetic, hospitality driven floor presence. Support the General Manager in setting clear expectations and holding the team accountable to brand and company standards. Foster positive and inclusive performance oriented culture.
- Maintain high standards for food quality, service execution, cleanliness, and hospitality. Actively engage with guests and assist in resolving concerns in real time.
- Support day-to-day restaurant execution across FOH and BOH. Ensure food safety, sanitation, and health department compliance at all times. Execute opening, mid, and closing shifts with confidence and consistency.
- Assist in hiring, training, coaching hourly team members. Build leadership bench strength through structured development and succession planning.
- Support scheduling, payroll, invoices, and administrative tasks. Ensure compliance with labor laws, safety requirements, and company policies. Partner with General Manager on employee matters.
- Execute labor and cost controls during shifts. Understand key financial drivers and support the GM in achieving budgeted targets Assist with P&L review preparation and action planning.
Experience
- 2-4 years of leadership experience in restaurants, hospitality, or a comparable service driven environment.
- Experience supporting day-today restaurant operations across FOH and BOH.
- Demonstrated ability to lead shifts, manage teams, and uphold service and quality standards.
- Experience hiring, training, and developing managers and hourly team members, with interest in growing into a General Manager role.
