The Associate Director, Identity, Ability & Wellness Partnerships & Advising for the Hoffman Family Undergraduate Center for Career Development is responsible for contributing to business development strategy; cultivating key employer partnerships; designing programs and initiatives that foster Inclusive Excellence in career development; counseling CCD staff; advising employers to build a strong, inclusive student talent pipeline; and liaising with the Office of Belonging and Inclusion, Student Advising & Success, Wellness & Prevention Services, and the Department of Accessibility Services. This position will provide leadership and develop expertise in specific areas of identity, ability, and wellness. WHAT YOU WILL DO Strategic Projects & Inclusive Excellence Partnerships (30%) Provide insights and direction on CCD strategic Inclusive Excellence priorities and opportunities, particularly, but not limited to, identity, ability, and wellness. Manage select partnerships through regular communications, development of programs and initiatives, creation and assessment of goals (e.g., First Gen, Neurodiversity, Ability Diversity, Wellness Diversity, Workplace Accommodations). Provide strategic insights, relevant research and best practices for building, recruiting, advancing and retaining underrepresented talent. Research and assess student workplace experiences to provide strategic insights into partner’s culture, brand, and early-stage professional opportunities. Promote awareness of and guidance related to identity, different ableism, and health and wellness. Identify and develop strategic projects that keep CCD on the cutting edge of innovation across career counseling and education, Inclusive Excellence, and career development, progression and success. Collaborate with the marketing and branding team to produce and deliver multimedia content for print and online distribution (i.e., website, blogs, and social media) to promote CCD Inclusive Excellence programs and services, and to build community awareness. Research and conduct outreach to prospective individuals, corporations, foundations, government, and funding entities for strategic partnership in coordination with Senior Associate Director. Student Support & Advising (50%) Counsel students throughout the full career development life cycle which may include career exploration, resume and cover letter writing, interview preparation, networking approaches, internship and job search strategies, offers and negotiations, navigating the workplace, career success/progression, LinkedIn and personal branding, and other related topics. Provide specialized guidance and support related to identity, ability and wellness during the recruiting process and in the workplace, as well as strategies for navigating injustice, bias and discrimination, especially as it relates to career development, recruitment, progression and the workplace. Collaborate on strategy for consistent engagement through the career development lifecycle for students from marginalized and diverse backgrounds; monitor and alter approach as needed. Engage in continuous professional development in career and workforce development to drive best practices for career development programming and advising to maximize learning and student engagement, especially as it relates to identity, access and wellness, including neurodiversity, mental health, ability, access to resources, workstyle, etc. Develop relationships with students and identity-based student organizations through individual advising, programming, and consultation. Internal Team Collaboration (10%) Serve as a resource to internal team members to develop and enhance cultural competence and inclusive leadership skills. Share best practices, training and development, and industry trends related to Inclusive Excellence. External/Cross-functional Collaboration (10%) Build effective and collaborative partnerships with student support teams to ensure a holistic, healthy and safe college and professional experience, and to ensure Inclusive Excellence career priorities are communicated, executed, and evaluated within a timely manner. Partner cross-functionally with key partners within the Office of Belonging and Inclusion, Academic Affairs, Wellness & Prevention Services, Department of Accessibility Services, and other collaborators to facilitate learning curricula that are research-based to ensure Inclusive Excellence career priorities. Support the development of existing and newly developed training programs related to Inclusive Excellence career topics within the college. Assume additional responsibilities as required. YOUR TEAM WILL INCLUDE N/A WHAT EDUCATION AND SKILLS YOU WILL NEED Bachelor’s Degree Must have at least 6-8 years of professional experience in career advising, advancement, or corporate relations; and work experience with Inclusive Excellence strategy, partnerships, and programming. Knowledge of best practices in career development. Ability to work collaboratively across internal and external constituencies and manage multiple projects/programs. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Must have solid presentation, marketing, and counseling skills. Must have a customer service orientation. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and build effective relationships with internal and external constituents. Must have an entrepreneurial orientation along with a proven track record of taking initiative and making things happen (self- starter). Must be a team player. Ability to work with ethnically, culturally, ability, and socially diverse students, staff, and faculty. Ability to envision and propose new methods to perform tasks that support ET&A; take thoughtful risks; and accept new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain sought-after results. Ability to anticipate and embrace change; demonstrate willingness to achieve, acquire, and utilize new skills and challenging tasks; and is flexible in changing conditions. Must have strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint). HOW AND WHERE YOU WILL WORK Hybrid work option is available up to 2 days per week at the manager’s discretion. ADDITIONAL SKILLS YOU MAY HAVE Advanced degree in business, education, counseling or related field preferred. Connector: Thoughtfully considers how events, challenges, new information and decisions may impact or connect to others. Experience taking initiative and creating vehicles and channels to drive change relevant to the specific audience.
