Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Manual Machinist, Fabricator, and Welder to join our dynamic manufacturing team. Responsibilities
- Operate manual machining tools such as lathes, grinders, and mills to produce precision metal parts according to specifications.
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing instructions accurately.
- Set up and calibrate machinery including CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines like CNC lathes and mills, ensuring proper tooling and parameters are used.
- Perform welding tasks using various techniques such as MIG, TIG, or stick welding to assemble or repair components.
- Use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges.
- Program CNC machines utilizing G-code and M-code languages; troubleshoot machine issues for optimal performance.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols; operate hand tools, power tools, and forklifts as needed for material handling.
- Assist in tooling setup, machine calibration, and basic maintenance to ensure efficient production workflows.
- Collaborate with team members on continuous improvement initiatives such as lean manufacturing practices.
Skills
- Proficiency in manual machining operations including lathe work, milling, grinding, and drilling.
- Strong ability to read mechanical blueprints and interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications.
- Experience with CNC programming using Fanuc or similar controllers; familiarity with CNC G-code programming is highly desirable.
- Skilled in welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, or stick welding with the ability to produce strong welds that meet quality standards.
- Familiarity with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software like SolidWorks or general blueprint creation/editing tools.
- Mechanical knowledge including understanding of M-code commands for CNC machines and basic math skills for measurement calculations.
- Ability to operate precision measurement instruments such as micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators.
- Strong problem-solving skills combined with attention to detail; ability to troubleshoot machine issues efficiently.
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods; comfortable lifting heavy materials safely; valid forklift certification preferred but not required.
