Test & Trials Worker A / Electrical
Location: Pascagoula, MS

Summary
We are hiring an experienced Electrical Test & Trials Worker to support testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, and sea trial activities for marine vessels. This role is responsible for verifying the functionality and performance of shipboard electrical systems, diagnosing and correcting electrical issues, and ensuring all systems meet customer specifications and regulatory requirements prior to vessel delivery.
The ideal candidate will have strong marine electrical experience, exceptional troubleshooting abilities, and experience working with electrical control systems, motors, VFDs, transformers, and shipboard equipment.
Must-Haves
- Minimum 4 years of electrical experience.
- Marine, shipyard, or shipbuilding electrical experience.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
- Experience troubleshooting electrical circuits and control systems.
- Proficient in using multimeters and electrical testing equipment.
- Working knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems.
- Ability to independently diagnose and repair electrical issues.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces and at elevated heights.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Strong communication, reporting, and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with motor controllers and motor control circuits.
- Experience troubleshooting and testing Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
- Experience working with transformers, relays, and relay logic.
- Knowledge of alarm systems and float switches.
- Experience with emergency stop (E-Stop) and control circuits.
- Previous sea trial, dock trial, commissioning, or startup experience.
- Familiarity with regulatory inspections and compliance testing.
- Experience using process meters, simulators, decade boxes, and other advanced testing equipment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with mechanical and electrical teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform electrical testing and verification of vessel systems prior to delivery.
- Participate in dock trials and sea trials.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits, equipment, and control systems.
- Test and verify operation of motors, motor controllers, VFDs, transformers, relays, alarms, and related systems.
- Identify, document, and resolve deficiencies discovered during testing.
- Generate test reports and communicate results to management, customers, and regulatory representatives.
- Support inspections and compliance verification activities.
- Maintain compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
