B & D Contracting is seeking a dependable and hardworking Electrician Helper to support electrical operations within a shipyard environment. This position assists electricians and electrical crews with cable pulling, material handling, equipment setup, and other general labor duties related to marine electrical installation and repair operations. The Electrician Helper plays a critical role in maintaining workflow efficiency, jobsite safety, and project productivity throughout shipyard operations. The ideal candidate will have experience working in industrial, marine, construction, or shipyard environments, demonstrate strong work ethic and reliability, and possess the ability to safely perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced setting. Key Responsibilities Assist electricians with cable pulling, routing, and installation throughout vessels, shipyard facilities, and work areas. Support electrical crews with staging materials, tools, equipment, and jobsite preparation. Handle and organize electrical supplies, wire, conduit, and related materials. Assist with basic electrical installation tasks under the supervision of qualified electricians. Maintain clean and organized work areas to support safe and efficient operations. Follow all OSHA, shipyard, and company safety procedures and PPE requirements. Assist with moving equipment, ladders, cable reels, and other jobsite materials. Support troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair activities as directed by supervisors. Perform general labor duties associated with marine and industrial electrical operations. Communicate effectively with supervisors and crew members regarding assigned tasks and jobsite conditions. Maintain regular attendance and reliability in meeting project schedules and production goals. Must-Have Qualifications Minimum of 1 year of experience in construction, industrial, marine, or shipyard labor environments. Ability to perform physically demanding work including lifting, climbing, bending, kneeling, and working in confined spaces. Ability to safely use basic hand tools and power tools. Willingness to work outdoors and in varying weather or industrial conditions. Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to follow instructions. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Understanding of basic jobsite safety practices and PPE requirements. Ability to pass required pre-employment screenings and shipyard access requirements. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
