Position Summary
B&D Contracting is seeking an experienced Commercial Electrician to join our team in the New Orleans, Louisiana area. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of hands-on commercial electrical experience and be capable of working independently or as part of a crew on new construction, renovations, and commercial service projects.
This position requires installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial electrical systems while ensuring all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and company safety standards. Candidates must be dependable, safety-focused, and able to work in a fast-paced construction environment.
Responsibilities
- Install conduit (EMT, RMC, PVC, and flexible conduit).
- Pull, terminate, and test electrical wiring and cables.
- Install electrical panels, switchgear, transformers, lighting, and control systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, and specifications.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and repair equipment efficiently.
- Install and connect motors, disconnects, breakers, and controls.
- Perform preventive maintenance on commercial electrical systems.
- Ensure all work complies with NEC, OSHA, and local building codes.
- Operate lifts, ladders, and electrical testing equipment safely.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, project managers, and other trades.
- Maintain clean and organized job sites.

Must Haves
- Minimum 5 years of commercial electrical experience.
- Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
