Fuel Trailer Driver
Job Summary
B&D Contracting is seeking a dependable and safety-oriented Fuel Trailer Driver to transport and dispense diesel fuel, DEF, gasoline, and lubricants to heavy equipment and construction vehicles on multiple job sites. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring equipment is fueled safely and efficiently while maintaining compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Safely operate a fuel truck and trailer to transport fuel to construction job sites.
Fuel heavy equipment, generators, trucks, and other construction machinery.
Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
Inspect fuel tanks, hoses, pumps, and dispensing equipment for leaks or damage.
Maintain accurate fuel usage and delivery records.
Monitor fuel inventory and communicate replenishment needs.
Follow all DOT, OSHA, EPA, and company safety regulations.
Respond appropriately to fuel spills using spill prevention and containment procedures.
Keep truck, trailer, and fueling equipment clean and in good working condition.
Coordinate with project supervisors regarding fueling schedules.
Assist with general labor duties when fueling responsibilities are complete, as directed.
Qualifications
Valid CDL Class A or Class B with appropriate endorsements (as required).
Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Medical Card).
Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience preferred.
Experience operating fuel trucks or transporting hazardous materials preferred.
Ability to safely operate around heavy equipment and active construction sites.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Reliable transportation and excellent attendance.
Requirements
Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
Must pass background check (if required).
Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.
Must wear required PPE at all times.
Must possess excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Certifications
HazMat Endorsement (Preferred)
TWIC Card (Preferred)
Basic Plus Safety Orientation (Preferred or Required if applicable)
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 (Preferred)
Physical Requirements
Frequently climb ladders and equipment.
Walk on uneven terrain.
Bend, kneel, stoop, and lift throughout the workday.
Work in hot, cold, wet, and dusty conditions.
