Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated 3rd Class Shipfitter to support shipyard fabrication and structural fitting operations in Pascagoula, MS. This role involves laying out, fabricating, and positioning metal structural components within a vessel’s hull in preparation for welding. The ideal candidate has foundational shipfitting experience, can read basic blueprints or templates, and is able to demonstrate skills through a hands-on craft test.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of marine experience or 6 months of continuous company experience
- Ability to pass a hands-on shipfitter craft test
- Basic knowledge of structural fitting
- Ability to accurately perform layout, measuring, cutting, and fitting
- Experience with torch cutting
- Ability to perform metric measurements (cm, mm, etc.)
- Basic understanding of blueprints, sketches, and templates
- Ability to follow safety procedures and work in a shipyard environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a shipyard or marine construction environment
- Experience with tack welding clips, brackets, or structural components
- Familiarity with installing gaskets, liners, packing, and structural accessories

Key Responsibilities
- Lay out and fabricate metal structural parts using blueprints or templates
