Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled 1st Class Structural Welder to join our team in Fourchon, LA. This role involves performing high-quality structural welding on offshore and industrial components in a fast-paced, safety-driven environment. The ideal candidate has strong experience with multiple welding processes, can read and interpret blueprints, and consistently produces code-quality welds. Free housing is provided to support rotational or project-based work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform structural welding using processes such as SMAW (stick), FCAW (flux core), and/or GMAW (MIG)
- Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings
- Fit, align, and weld structural components to required specifications
- Ensure all welds meet AWS / ASME / company standards
- Operate welding and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently
- Inspect completed welds and correct defects as needed
- Follow all safety policies and procedures, especially in industrial/coastal environments
- Work effectively in outdoor conditions and on rotating schedules if required
Must-Haves (Required Qualifications):
- Proven experience as a 1st Class Structural Welder
- Proficiency in SMAW and FCAW (pipe experience a plus but not required)
- Ability to pass a 6G or structural weld test
- Strong ability to read blueprints and weld symbols
- Valid TWIC card (or ability to obtain quickly)
- Reliable transportation to reporting location
- Ability to work long hours, overtime, and nights
- Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience working in offshore, shipyard, or oil & gas environments
- Current AWS certifications
- Experience with carbon steel, stainless steel, and structural fabrication
- Rigging or fitting experience
- NCCER certification (plus)
- Experience working in coastal or marine conditions (wind, humidity, salt exposure)
