Performs respiratory therapy duties independently across acute and critical care settings, following physician orders and departmental policies. Consults with healthcare team members and recommends treatment options.
Essential Functions
- Completes general and critical care procedures, including invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation, airway management, blood gas analysis, and patient education.
- Documents procedures accurately, communicates effectively with team members, and adheres to infection control standards.
- Provides recommendations and reports to the healthcare team, maintaining compliance with quality initiatives.
- Performs equipment cleaning and disinfection as required.
- Performs other assigned duties.
- Associate degree or equivalent experience in respiratory care, with graduation from an accredited program.
- Licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner and registration as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
- Certifications including BLS, with NRP, PALS, ACLS, and NPS as required.
- Skills to treat patients of all ages, from neonates to geriatrics.
- Work independently under supervision, providing high-quality respiratory care.
- Communicate effectively with the healthcare team and patients, ensuring safety and education.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain proper documentation.
