Duties
- Conduct patient assessments, examinations, and follow-up visits
- Diagnose and treat common acute and chronic conditions
- Develop treatment plans and prescribe medications as appropriate
- Review lab results, imaging, and patient medical histories
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation
- Collaborate with physicians, medical assistants, and other healthcare staff
- Provide patient education and promote preventive care
Experience
- Proven experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner or similar advanced practice role in outpatient clinics or urgent care settings.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Athenahealth; telehealth experience is highly valued.
- Critical care experience including ICU or emergency room exposure is preferred; hospital medicine or Level I/II trauma center experience is a plus.
- Experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, behavioral health patients, and individuals with disabilities or in assisted living environments.
- Strong understanding of physiology knowledge for diagnostics evaluation; competence in physical examinations and vital signs assessment is essential.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams in high-pressure settings like trauma centers or acute care units while maintaining excellent patient care standards.
Requirements:
- Active Nurse Practitioner license in New Jersey
- Current DEA registration
- Minimum 2 years of Nurse Practitioner experience preferred
- Experience in primary care, urgent care, internal medicine, or family medicine preferred
- Strong clinical judgment and patient communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
