Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Tax Manager to oversee all aspects of the Company’s U.S. tax compliance and planning. This role involves managing the preparation and review of tax returns, overseeing tax provisions, and ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical tax knowledge, analytical thinking, and communication skills, while thriving in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Manage the preparation and filing of U.S. federal, state, and local income tax returns in collaboration with external providers.
- Responsible for quarterly estimated tax projections and payments.
- Lead the preparation and review of quarterly and annual income tax provisions.
- Supervise external consultants to ensure timely and accurate U.S. sales tax filings and payments.
- Manage tax account reconciliations for bookkeeping purposes.
- Manage and respond to tax audits and inquiries from federal and state tax authorities.
- Oversee other compliance, including Form 1099, property tax, and business license renewals, etc.
- Perform tax research and analysis to ensure compliance with evolving tax laws and identify potential planning opportunities.
- Participate in the review of proposed transactions to properly advise management of tax consequences.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory changes, assess their potential impact on the Company, and provide guidance as needed.
- Partner with Accounting, FP&A, and Operations teams to evaluate the tax implications of business initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field.
- 3-6 years of progressive corporate tax experience, preferably including public accounting and/or corporate tax roles.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Solid organizational skills, especially the ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on details.
- Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and act as the primary contact for assigned engagements.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to deliver on strategic objectives in a dynamic environment.
- CPA certification is preferred but not required
- Fluency in Mandarin (verbal and written) is preferred but not required
