Brief Summary:
Maintains all calibrations and verification records. Ensures all gauge and equipment used to calibrate gauges and equipment are maintained in good working order. Ensures all gauges and equipment used for testing and measuring are calibrated and ready for use.
Safety:
➢ The employee is required to be familiarized with the company’s safety procedures and rules to perform the duties of this job according to general and departmental safety rules.
• The employee must use the required personal protective equipment based on the job duties (refer to PPE matrix in Flex).
• They must report immediately to the Axis Safety Department any accident that involved another employee, a customer, a vendor, or themselves.
• Employees must immediately report any unsafe act, condition, or equipment, cooperate with any accident investigations, and participate actively in Axis’s safety training programs.

Responsibilities:
• Interacting with other departments and personnel
• Training of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and proper use of Inspection, Measurement, and Testing Equipment (IM&TE)
• Maintains, Repairs, services, and lubricates gauges and equipment, using hand gauges, spray gun, or pressurized spray can, responsible for tool maintenance as required.
• Maintain measuring and gauging equipment
• Maintain, receive, store, and issues gauges, materials, and equipment in industrial establishment: Issues gauges
and equipment to workers and maintains records of tools and equipment issued and returned, manually or using computer.
• Organize and store supplies and small stock items of product material
• May deliver gauges or equipment to workers, manually or using some type of transportation.
• Locate lost or misplaced gauges and equipment while documenting tool location manually or by computer aided software.
• Prepares periodic inventory or maintains perpetual inventory of gauges and equipment, manually or using computer
• Destroy/Dispose of defective items, or return to vendors for services
• Maintain an adequate stock of supplies and items, prepares documents to requisition stock to replenish inventory and for purchase of new or additional stock and provide First Article Inspection forms for AVL.
• Maintains tracking and records of calibration to ensure documentation of traceability
• Maintain and order tooling consistent to the rate of typical consumption
• Identifies, labels, and issues M&TE for use by Manufacturing, Shipping, and Quality Control
• Inspects and measures gauges and equipment for defects and wear, visually or using micrometer and reports damage or wear to supervisors.
• Inspect sample work pieces to verify conformance with specifications, using instruments such as gauges, micrometers, and dial indicators.
• Assist shipping and receiving when required
• Aid in root cause analysis and continuous improvement for in-process inspections and post manufacturing.
• Receives, unpacks, and stores incoming gauges and equipment, and requisitions stock to replenish inventory.
• May assist in quality audits, procedure writing, document control, report writing
• Provides TTL support for consumables and special request by reserving items from the warehouse and/or
vendors
• Responsible for completing any assignments given by supervisor, even those assignments not specifically listedin this job description
Qualifications:
• Associate Degree in related field or High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• 3-6 months related experience in related field
• Fundamental understanding of GD&T and M&TE
• ASNT-TC-1A Qualified UT Lv. II (not required, but nice to have)
• Must be capable of reading the Jaeger J1 test chart, or equivalent to 20/20, at a distance of no less than 30cm (12in.) Mustbe able to differentiate between the colors used in the NDT method for which certification is required
• Moderate to Advanced PC Skills in Microsoft Applications, i.e., MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to follow job and safety requirements
Working Conditions:
• This position requires frequent communication, both written and oral.
• The work environment for this position is primarily performed in an office setting and in an industrial environment.
• There may be exposed to adverse weather conditions, extreme cold and heat, handling hazardous chemicals, bad odors, dirt, and dust.
• Workers will be required to sit or stand for long periods of time, walk long distances and work in confined spaces.
• Position requires the use of personal protective equipment.
Physical Requirements:
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; use hands to fingers, hands to feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear.
· The employee frequently is required to climb, balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit.
· The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
