Axios Professional Recruitment is partnered with a leading wholesale distributor seeking a Recruitment Specialist to join their Grand Rapids team. The Recruiter will be responsible for partnering with all levels of management on full-cycle recruiting to hire the best talent for all divisions, locations and positions to support operational success, excellent customer service, and company growth.
Responsibilities:
- Manage full cycle recruiting for a variety of positions across all divisions and locations.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, job requirements, ideal candidates, and timelines.
- Develop and post job informative and enticing ads on job boards, company websites, social media, and other effective sourcing platforms.
- Source candidates using job boards, referrals, networking, proactive outreach, and other creative and innovative sources.
- Partner with the marketing department on company branding and social media initiatives as well as the IT department on technological initiatives to enhance recruiting effectiveness and candidate experience.
- Screen resumes, conduct phone and in-person interviews, conduct pre-employment assessments, and assess candidates for best qualifications and cultural fit.
- Coordinate interviews and facilitate communication between candidates and hiring managers.
- Prepare and extend job offers, including compensation recommendations within company guidelines.
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates and recruiting resources for recurring and hard-to-fill roles.
- Represent the company professionally to candidates and external partners.
- Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process.
- Promote the company’s culture, values, and opportunities for growth.
- Lead employee referral programs, local recruiting events, job fairs, and other sourcing activities.
- Ensure all recruiting practices comply with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Maintain accurate applicant tracking system (ATS) records and maintain up-to-date hiring documentation.
- Coordinate background checks, drug screens, and pre-employment requirements as needed.
- Partner with HR on onboarding coordination and new hire paperwork.
- Track and report recruiting metrics such as time-to-fill, source effectiveness, and turnover trends.
- Train management, human resources, and others on recruiting and hiring best practices and legal compliance.
- Identify opportunities to improve recruiting processes and hiring outcomes.
- Stay current on labor market trends, especially for hard to fill positions.
- Administer, explain, and enforce company policies and procedures and actively participate in policy, procedure, and SOP creation and updates.
- Serve as a resource to and liaison between associates and management.
- Coordinate and perform efficient, accurate, and effective daily HR tasks and projects.
- Participate in new hire orientation and conduct onboarding interviews to ensure the successful onboarding and retention of new associates.
- Keep up to date on industry trends and employment laws.
- Create, share, and implement ideas for continuous improvement and cost savings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or equivalent work experience.
- HRCI or SHRM certification, preferred.
- Working knowledge of human resource concepts and federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Working knowledge of federal and state OSHA, DOT, and FMCSA regulations.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and ethics.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines and easily adapt to changing situations in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective interpersonal, communication, customer service, teamwork, judgment, adaptability, organization, prioritization, negotiation, stress management, accuracy, presentation, persuasion, listening, delegation, decision making, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
