Controller

Ambient Recruiting is partnered with a leading manufacturer to identify an experienced Controller to oversee accounting and financial operations.

The Controller will oversee core accounting functions and ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance across the organization. This position will serve as a key business partner to leadership, supporting budgeting, forecasting, risk management, and continuous process improvement.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee accounting operations including general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations, including sales and use tax.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and governmental agencies.
• Oversee accounts payable, including approvals, coding, and vendor payments.
• Manage accounts receivable, invoicing, collections, and customer accounts.
• Monitor aging reports and provide financial risk analysis.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Prepare and analyze financial and operational reports, including variance analysis and KPIs.
• Maintain compliance with financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Support physical inventory processes, standard cost updates, and other manufacturing finance activities.
• Supervise and develop accounting staff.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, supply chain, quality, and executive leadership.
• Assist with additional financial projects and initiatives as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• 5 years of progressive accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Knowledge of manufacturing accounting, including inventory and standard costing.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
