Axios Professional Recruitment is partnered with a growing manufacturing organization in Greenville, Michigan, to identify their next Buyer. This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented procurement professional with experience in purchasing, supplier management, and inventory planning who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain appropriate inventory levels to support manufacturing and production needs through MRP analysis and inventory planning
• Review ERP/MRP reports to identify material requirements and ensure timely purchasing decisions
• Create and manage purchase orders, blanket orders, and supplier schedules
• Monitor supplier performance and communicate regularly regarding delivery timelines, constraints, and potential risks
• Expedite materials as needed to support production requirements
• Maintain accurate purchase orders within the ERP system and communicate any delays or changes
• Source materials, parts, components, and services while balancing quality, cost, and delivery expectations
• Research and analyze purchasing trends, supplier markets, and cost-saving opportunities
• Partner with freight carriers, warehouse teams, and accounting to resolve receiving and inventory issues
• Support vendor returns and supplier corrective actions
• Assist with cost reduction initiatives and continuous improvement projects
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and other departments on engineering change notices (ECNs)
• Maintain supplier documentation and track non-conformances through appropriate corrective actions
• Assist in developing and improving purchasing processes and procedures
• Utilize ERP systems, Microsoft Office, and Excel to support purchasing activities
• Participate in cross-functional teams focused on improving productivity, quality, and operational efficiency

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred; equivalent purchasing experience will be considered
• 5 years of purchasing and sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with international purchasing and supplier management preferred
• Strong negotiation and communication skill
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Proactive mindset with strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
• Experience utilizing ERP and MRP systems
• Ability to successfully complete required pre-employment screening

Schedule:

• Full-time position, hybrid schedule available
• Monday–Thursday: 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• Overtime may be required on Fridays and Saturdays as needed
