We deliver support in all areas of administration, including donor care and engagement, donation processing and receipting, treasury management, accounting, reporting, financial planning, U.S. and international taxation, human resources, payroll, and benefit administration, all of which form a strong support foundation vitally important to front-line mission success. We also provide support in the areas of immigration, security, and risk management.
Axia International seeks full-time candidates for our Financial Controller position. Ideal candidates have a passion for serving others, demonstrated integrity and trustworthiness, and a desire to apply broad financial and technology skills to Axia and those we serve. Additionally, candidates should have an active Certified Public Accountant license and enjoy working in an office environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and support all areas of financial operations, including the full-cycle accounting and month-end close processes, financial reporting, treasury, and compliance.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team
- Help ensure an effective control environment and compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and other reporting requirements
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
- Monitor cash flow and liquidity to support operational needs
- Develop financial forecasts, analyze performance, identify variance drivers, and provide actionable insights
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve financial systems, policies, and procedures
- Partner with leadership to support risk management, business performance reporting, strategic planning, and decision making
- Coordinate external audits and act as the primary point of contact for auditors
Qualifications
- Active Certified Public Accountant license
- 3 to 10 years of progressive experience
- High integrity, enthusiastic, and passionate, able to build positive relationships and lead a team
- Strong organization, time management, and communication skills
- Comfortable with applying technology solutions to improve financial and business operations
- BSc or BA in accounting, finance or related
- MS in accounting, finance, or related
- Non-profit experience is a plus
- International non-profit or business experience is a plus
- Tax compliance experience is a plus
