Under the direction of the Chief Information Office, the Senior Director of Information Technology oversees the development, execution, support, and evaluation of a robust and comprehensive information technology (IT) system. The Senior IT Director will be responsible for all aspects of IT Infrastructure (servers, storage, network, etc.), Client Systems, IT Data Center Operations, Interfaces, Program Development. As an IT Leadership Team Member, the position engages with the CIO, IT Leadership Team, Department Heads, Policy Review Board and external vendors and contractors.
Job Responsibilities:
• Oversees Information Technology operations.
• Develops, implements and maintains IT strategies and procedures to ensure the delivery of reliable, highly-available, and secure network communications, storage, and computing resources.
• Leads team of IT professionals ensuring that operational requirements and projects are being handled efficiently and effectively, meeting established deadlines; incident reports are responded to and resolved in a timely manner.
• Evaluates requests for system enhancements and provides timetable for completion. Monitors all projects and provides periodic status reports.
• Oversees procedure documentation and change management processes for IT Infrastructure systems.
• Identifies and eliminates security risks by ensuring appropriate security controls are in place to safeguard the systems.
• Analyzes business requirements for IT needs and systems.
• Assesses need for new equipment and software.
• Prepares progress and budget reports for upper management.
• Builds and maintains relationships with outside vendors.
• Works with the IS leaders to investigate, research, and resolve escalated customer issues.
• Develops strong professional relationships with physicians, administrators, peer managers, supervisors, staff, and vendors to ensure key stakeholders, business partners and customers are aligned.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, information systems, computer science or related field (graduate degree a plus)
• Certifications and continuing education preferred
• In-depth understanding of computer systems, networks, security, telecommunications, databases and storage systems
• Experience with Epic Technical environment preferred
• Excellent interpersonal skills, communication and leadership skills
• Solid project management skills.
• Well-developed people management skills.
