What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical – Surgical / ICU Assistant Nurse Manager position at Avoyelles Hospital?
Directly responsible to the Medical – Surgical / ICU Nurse Manager. Assists Nurse Manager in her responsibility for the department’s continuous, effective operation and for the continuous improvement of its activities. The population served includes infants, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. Responsible for the management of the units and for compliance with the financial, personnel and nursing standards of care in the areas supervised. Shall assist the Nurse Manager in selecting and maintaining qualified professional Nursing Staff for the units. The Assistant Nurse Manager is encouraged to assist Nurse Manager in working with the Medical Directors in providing quality patient care. As outlined in this job description, the Assistant Nurse Manager assists the Nurse Manager in evaluating the Nursing Staff, establishing Nursing Standards specific to each service, participation on committee, developing and implementing policies and procedures in collaboration with the Chief Nursing Officer or designee. Assists Nurse Manager in the planning, assigning, supervising, administration and evaluation of nursing care that requires the judgment and specialized skills of a Registered Nurse.

Salary : $70,140 - $86,305
