Avion Solutions Inc., a 100% employee-owned company, seeks candidates for an Enterprise Data Engineer to support the U.S. Army Fixed Wing Project Office. This position is based in Huntsville, AL.

- Support Logistics Division leadership in the areas of asset tracking, supply chain metrics, and fleet management by serving as a technical lead that leverages advanced data engineering and business intelligence tools to optimize operations within a secure Microsoft 365 cloud environment.
- Develop, execute, and analyze custom Structured Query Language (SQL) scripts, packages, and stored procedures.
- Execute robust Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to integrate structured vendor contract data and large-scale platform data files (i.e., Palantir Foundry/enterprise data mesh platforms) into the central SQL data warehouse.
- Design, build, and maintain custom Power BI dashboards and paginated reports (via Power BI Report Builder) to monitor vendor performance metrics, supply chain health, and equipment availability. Manage automated report subscriptions for executive leadership.
- Perform regular data cleansing, profiling, and validation on data warehouse tables to ensure high-quality, trusted reporting and analytics.
- Develop and refine low-code business solutions using Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate to streamline internal workflows and approval chains.
- Manage and maintain Microsoft Teams channels and SharePoint structures to ensure seamless information sharing and document management.
- Act as a core technical advisor, translating complex logistics data into actionable, data-driven operational strategies.

- Bachelor’s degree in computer/data science, software engineering, information technology, data analytics, or a similar discipline.
- 15-20 years of relevant enterprise data engineering experience.
- Demonstrated expert-level experience with Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) & Data Tools (SSDT), Microsoft Power BI Desktop & Power BI Report Builder, Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate), and Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise.
- Strong communication, planning, and management skills.
- Possess a durable work ethic, having the ability to work alone with minimal direct supervision.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and have the ability to obtain/maintain a DoW security clearance.
- Must be able to travel up to 15% of the time. US travel only.
- An active CompTIA Security certification (or equivalent DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification) is highly preferred.
- Experience in commercial supply chain logistics, aviation/fleet asset management, heavy equipment manufacturing, or corporate inventory operations.
- Prior hands-on experience handling very large, disparate enterprise data sets or enterprise data fabric environments (i.e., Palantir Foundry).
- Strong understanding of performance-based metrics, vendor SLAs, and asset reliability tracking.
