Position: Commissioning Engineer III
Employment Type: Long-term contract | 12 Month Contract | Extension/Conversion Eligible
Job Site: Kemmerer, WY | Remote until deployed
Pay Rate Range: $70-115/hr. W2 (DOE)

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Averro is hiring multiple Commissioning Engineers to join one of the most exciting projects in nuclear energy today — the development and commissioning of an advanced sodium-cooled reactor in Kemmerer, WY. You'll be deeply focused on building out the startup commissioning test program from the ground up. These roles are remote to start, transitioning to 100% onsite in Wyoming once commissioning begins.
- Focused on development of the startup commissioning test program.
- Coordinate geographically diverse teams to develop design and testing documentation.
- Develop and implement commissioning administrative programs and procedures.
- Build and maintain an integrated nuclear plant commissioning schedule across multiple organizations.
- Support plant-level and system-level requirements, specifications, and strategy documents across the facility lifecycle.
- Evaluate integrated control and transient event responses and recommend operational optimizations.
- Provide subject matter expertise on nuclear regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
- Support licensing activities associated with Safety Analysis Reports.
QUALIFICATIONS
- B.S. in Nuclear, Mechanical, Electrical, or relevant engineering discipline.
- 7 years of nuclear power plant experience commissioning safety-related systems and components.
- 5 years of commercial nuclear reactor operating experience; Senior Reactor Operator or Shift Technical Advisor qualification preferred.
- Experience developing nuclear plant commissioning procedures, operations/maintenance procedures, and work control processes.
- Proficiency with P6 Primavera or similar scheduling tools preferred
- Strong understanding of nuclear regulations, configuration management, and NQA-1/ISO 9001 quality standards.
- Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage competing priorities across a multidisciplinary team with minimal direction.
