Joining Avant Specialty Benefits as a Benefits Coordinator presents an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact every day. This position provides high-quality on-site (in person) and telephonic support to employees. This role interacts directly with the assigned client, broker partners and Avant team members to assist with day-to-day benefit tasks. This position is based on-site with our client in Northwest Arkansas.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Serve as the on-site benefits support contact for employees, providing both in-person and telephonic assistance.
- Maintain strong working knowledge of all benefit plans, resources, and client-specific policies.
- Manage employee benefit interactions including enrollments, new hire onboarding, eligibility, and life event changes.
- Navigate and update benefit administration systems with a high level of accuracy.
- Monitor and respond to benefit inquiries via shared inbox and scheduled appointments.
- Facilitate benefit presentations for New Hire Orientation and Annual Enrollment.
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing Annual Enrollment activities.
- Conduct regular audits of benefit elections and premiums to ensure accuracy.
- Update benefit communication materials, including slides and presentations.
- Collaborate with vendors, brokers, and internal teams to resolve issues, improve processes, and support special projects.
Qualifications:
- Ability to be in-office a minimum of three days per week.
- Ability to travel to/from Little Rock and Bentonville/Fayetteville/Rogers Arkansas.
- Education: High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
- Experience: 2-4 years of HR, Employee Benefits and/or customer service experience required. Knowledge of and experience with benefit plans and administration a plus. Telephonic customer service experience is a plus. Bilingual capabilities (both written and verbal) considered a plus but not required.
- PowerPoint and presentation skills preferred.
- Experience with Workday preferred.
- Benefits Expertise: Develops and applies insurance benefits knowledge, staying current on industry trends and integrating best practices into daily work.
- Problem Solving: Identifies issues efficiently, determines root causes, and implements solutions or process improvements.
- Workflow & Systems Execution: Follows and contributes to established workflows, systems, and procedures to deliver a compliant, high-quality client experience.
