What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head of Business Development position at Automotive Personnel, LLC?
Head of Business Development
Exoticar Finance | South Florida (Preferred)
About Exoticar Finance
Exoticar Finance provides inventory financing (floor plan lines) to independent luxury and exotic car dealerships across the U.S. We're part of Sharpe Credit Partners' specialty finance platform, which means we combine startup agility with established financial backing and operational infrastructure. We're building a national dealer network and need someone who can own that effort from day one.
The Opportunity
This is not a "build the plane while flying it" situation—we have the capital, the underwriting process, and the operational support in place. What we need is someone who can open doors, close deals, and build a portfolio of dealer relationships quickly. You'll own dealer acquisition and business development end-to-end, with a clear mandate to grow our funded lines of credit to $10MM within your first 6 months.
If you already have relationships with independent exotic and luxury dealers—and can bring some of those with you—this role was built for you.
What You'll Own What Success Looks Like
• Full-cycle dealer acquisition: prospecting, pitching, negotiating terms, and closing signed floor plan agreements with independent luxury/exotic dealerships nationwide
• Pipeline management: building and maintaining a disciplined pipeline with accurate forecasting, using CRM tools to track every stage from first contact to funded line
• Revenue targets: hitting concrete volume goals—not "activity" metrics, but signed dealers and funded lines of credit• Market presence: representing Exoticar at auctions, trade events, and industry gatherings; becoming a known name in the exotic/luxury dealer community
• Cross-functional coordination: working closely with underwriting, operations, and legal to ensure a smooth dealer onboarding experience
What Success Looks Like What You Bring
First 30 days: You've activated your existing network, made initial contact with 15 target dealers, and have 3–5 serious conversations in progress.
First 90 days: You've closed your first 2–4 dealer floor plan agreements. At least one is actively drawing on their line.
First 6 months: You've built a portfolio of $10MM in committed dealer lines of credit, with consistent utilization.
First 12 months: You're recognized in the exotic/luxury dealer community as a trusted financing partner. Referrals are coming in. You may be building out a small team.
What You Bring
Required
• 5 years in B2B auto finance sales, dealer services, floor plan lending, or related financial products
• Existing relationships with independent exotic/luxury dealers that you can activate quickly
• Proven track record of originating and closing high-value dealer relationships (not just managing them)
• Deep understanding of independent dealership operations, especially in the high-end market
• Strong organizational discipline: you run a tight pipeline, update your CRM religiously, and can forecast accurately
• Self-direction and urgency—you don't wait to be told what to do
Bonus
• Experience with asset-based lending or specialty finance products
• Familiarity with auto auctions (Manheim, Adesa, etc.) and how dealers source inventory
• Experience selling insurance or F&I products into dealerships
Compensation & Benefits
• Competitive base salary uncapped performance incentives (OTE discussed upfront)
• Full health benefits package• Travel and business expense reimbursement
• Generous PTO
• Opportunity to grow into a leadership role as we scale nationally
Why This Role
You'll be a foundational hire with direct impact on the company's growth trajectory. This isn't a role where you're handed a territory and told to maintain it—you're building the dealer network from the ground up. If you're driven by closing deals, energized by the luxury auto space, and ready to own a number, we want to talk.
Salary : $150,000 - $300,000
