Service Manager – Automotive Dealership
We’re seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead our high‑volume dealership service department. This role oversees daily operations, drives customer satisfaction, and leads a team of advisors and technicians to deliver exceptional results.
I-KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: What you will be doing
1. Operational Leadership:
- Oversee all day-to-day service department operations
- Manage scheduling, workflow, dispatch, and repair order management
- Monitor labor hours, technician productivity, proficiency, and efficiency
- Control departmental expenses and maximize gross profit
- Oversee repair quality, warranty compliance, and safety standards
- Full-time, on-site role in a dealership service department.
- Requires mobility around the shop, customer areas, and lot.
- Occasional extended hours during peak periods.
2. Team Leadership
- Recruit, coach, train, and develop Service Advisors and Technicians
- Conduct regular performance reviews and accountability meetings
- Foster a culture of urgency, professionalism, and teamwork
- Optimize technician scheduling and dispatch
- Lead daily service operations and team performance
3. Customer Experience
- Ensure an outstanding service experience from appointment to delivery
- Ensure top‑tier customer experience and strong CSI performance by resolving customer issues and maintaining service excellence
- Resolve escalated customer concerns quickly and professionally
- Drive online reputation through positive customer reviews. Financial Performance
- Grow customer pay, labor, and parts sales
- Improve the effective labor rate and hours per repair order
- Monitor warranty performance and expense controls
- Monitor KPIs: productivity, efficiency, ERO, ELR, and gross profit through departmental report analysis
- Drive department profitability through effective labor and parts management
5. Technology & Innovation
- Leverage dealership software, reporting tools(DMS), and AI-based systems
- Implement process improvements and automation opportunities
- Use data to identify trends and drive decision-making
6. Retention & Loyalty
- Increase service retention and repeat business
- Support Suntrup’s Lifetime Powertrain Loyalty Program
- Strengthen long-term customer relationships

1. Hard Skills
- Minimum 3–5 years of Service Manager or equivalent leadership experience
- High-volume dealership experience preferred
- Strong understanding of fixed operations KPIs
- Experience with OEM brands like BMW, VW, Hyundai, Kia, and Nissan.
- ASE certifications or manufacturer certifications
- Strong financial acumen and KPI-driven mindset
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
- Solid understanding of automotive repair processes
- Experience with dealership management systems (DMS)
