Sheet Metal Technician
Automation Personnel Services is looking for a hard-working Sheet Metal Technician for a company based in in Louisa, Virginia, specializing in sheet metal fabrication, welding, machining, coatings, and the design and build of turnkey mechanical systems. In addition to full system integration and production, we also design custom equipment and collaborate with customers to refine and optimize their product designs.
Our capabilities include UL 508A industrial control panels and electrical assemblies as part of broader engineered solutions. Our customer is organized into five strategic verticals: Engineered Plant Equipment, OEM Equipment, Data Infrastructure, Defense & Secure Facility Components, Exhaust Systems, and Contract Manufacturing.

Schedule and Hours
First Shift: Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
First Shift: Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
Second Shift: Monday-Friday, 3:00pm-11:30pm.
Sheet Metal Technician Duties and Responsibilities
- Cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal to create products using tools and machinery to follow blueprints and technical drawings.
- Accurately measuring and marking sheet metal.
- Using hand/power tools to shape sheet metal in desired forms.
- Inspect for leaks, defects and proper functionality of product.
- Maintaining tools and equipment.
- Adhering safety protocols.
- Identifying and resolving issues.
- Maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Sheet Metal Qualifications and Requirements
- Work experience in this field is desirable.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing a high-quality product.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and ability to lead and follow them.
- Effective written and communicating skills to collaborate with team members.
- Hand-eye coordination, ability to work with accuracy.
- Strong math and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
