Autism Support Specialist (In‑Person)
Pay: $15.00–$18.00 per hour
Work Location: In Person
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autism Support Specialist to join our team and make a meaningful impact in the lives of children with autism and developmental disabilities. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, energetic, and committed to child‑centered care.
As an Autism Support Specialist, you will provide behavioral support, assist with daily living activities, and help implement individualized care plans that promote growth, independence, and overall well‑being. You will work closely with families, educators, and healthcare professionals to deliver impactful, evidence‑based support services.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement behavioral therapy techniques, including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), across various settings
- Assist children with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as grooming, feeding, toileting, and mobility
- Collect, track, and analyze behavioral data to guide treatment decisions and monitor progress
- Support the development and implementation of individualized care plans
- Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to ensure consistency across environments
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, progress notes, and records in compliance with HIPAA
- Use appropriate medical terminology when documenting observations and interventions
- Support behavioral health initiatives using patient‑centered behavior‑management strategies
Experience & Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities strongly preferred
- Knowledge of ABA principles and behavior‑management strategies
- Experience assisting with ADLs in a caregiving, educational, or clinical setting
- Familiarity with medical documentation processes and maintaining confidential records
- Understanding of special education principles and instructional methods for children with autism
- Ability to collect data systematically and adjust interventions based on results
- Strong communication skills, patience, empathy, and professionalism
