The Senior Manager of Accounting role will oversee the day-to-day accounting operations related to the Company’s Trades Retail business divisions. This role will interact with senior management and be one of the key individuals to help implement new processes across the company. This role will manage a team of 4-5 individuals, overseeing month-end close processes and leading various system integrations.
The ideal candidate will be able to independently perform routine accounting functions, accounts payable and expense analysis, account reconciliations, and general ledger activities, requiring a working knowledge of GAAP. A strong candidate should be driven and resourceful, with strong prioritization skills and an analytical mindset with a desire to work in a challenging fast-paced environment that is focused on growth and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Lead monthly and annual close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial statements.
- Review and approve monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP.
- Oversee PBC requests for the annual audit.
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve automation.
- Lead various system integrations, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Collaborate with FP&A, supporting budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Supervise, mentor and develop accounting staff.
- Assist with ad-hoc projects as needed.
Qualifications
- 10 years of accounting experience, including supervisory experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- CPA preferred
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting
- Must be a proactive and highly organized self-starter with excellent communication/collaboration skills.
- Must be flexible, able to handle multiple priorities and work independently.
- Ability to think creatively while maintaining high standards of accuracy and precision
