Stratfield is seeking an Accounting Manager/Sr. Accountant to join our growing client. This person will oversee core accounting operations and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting activities, leading the close process, and providing financial insights to support business operations and decision-making. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys working in a growing, dynamic organization and can balance operational execution with process improvement.
This is a permanent position that will be fully onsite in the Roswell area. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and reporting requirements
Leadership & Team Oversight
- Lead and develop a small accounting team
- Establish and maintain internal controls and accounting policies
- Promote accountability and continuous improvement within the accounting function
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasts
- Monitor financial performance and provide variance analysis
- Partner with leadership on financial planning and analysis
Cash Management & Operations
- Oversee cash flow and working capital management
- Support improvements to financial systems and processes
- Provide financial support for operational initiatives
Audit & Compliance
- Coordinate external audits and tax-related activities
- Maintain audit readiness and supporting documentation
- Ensure adherence to GAAP and internal policies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA strongly preferred
- 7 years of progressive accounting experience
- Prior experience in a Controller or Assistant Controller capacity preferred
- Experience managing or mentoring accounting staff
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Hands-on and detail-oriented approach
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving capability
- Ability to work cross-functionally
- Experience improving accounting processes and systems
