Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable Shipping Clerk / Truck Driver to support shipping, inventory, warehouse, and interfacility transportation operations. This role is responsible for transporting materials between company facilities, preparing shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy, operating forklifts, and ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products. The ideal candidate has experience driving a box truck, strong organizational skills, and experience in warehouse or shipping operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a company box truck to transport materials safely between facilities.
- Receive, stock, issue, and maintain inventory of parts and assemblies.
- Perform cycle counts and inventory control activities to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Prepare, package, label, and stage shipments according to company procedures.
- Create shipping labels, packing slips, freight bills, and shipping documentation.
- Match shipping paperwork with outbound shipments prior to carrier pickup.
- Schedule, track, and monitor shipments throughout the shipping process.
- Update work orders and shipping records using internal computer systems.
- Print inventory reports, shipping reports, inventory tags, and container labels.
- Assist with customer and freight carrier portals for shipment processing.
- Identify inventory or shipping discrepancies and help resolve issues.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse material handling equipment safely.
- Train and support team members on shipping procedures and best practices.
- Contribute to workplace organization through 5S, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizen (Required).
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience operating a box truck.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, logistics, or inventory control.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with inventory and shipping documentation.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to recognize issues and exercise sound judgment when resolving exceptions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and shipping software.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing work orders, routing, and engineering sketches.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching, and material handling throughout the shift.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts, box trucks, and warehouse equipment.
- Ability to assemble or reconfigure warehouse racks, storage equipment, and shipping work areas.
