Position Overview
The Process Operator II is responsible for operating and monitoring plant equipment in a regeneration and manufacturing environment. This role involves performing routine production tasks, ensuring equipment functionality, and maintaining safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment & Process Operations
- Operate and monitor plant equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Perform pressure testing and routine process checks.
- Manage material flow and process operations within assigned area.
Production Activities (Carbon / Regeneration)
- Handle carbon processing tasks such as sampling, testing, and feeding materials into reactivation systems.
- Sort, load, and unload bottles/materials based on size and type.
- Operate forklifts to move materials and support plant logistics.
- Operate equipment such as filter presses and wastewater treatment systems.
- Calibrate instruments (e.g., pH probes) and switch tank feeds as required.
Safety & Quality
- Follow all safety procedures, including hazardous waste handling protocols.
- Complete required site-specific safety training (including HAZWOPER if applicable).
- Ensure adherence to product quality standards and operational guidelines.
General Operations
- Read and follow documented work instructions and procedures.
- Support overall plant performance and meet production goals.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing, plant, or process operations.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions.
- Basic math and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in chemical, regeneration, or industrial plant environments.
- Forklift operation experience.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Completion (or willingness to complete) 40-hour hazardous waste operations training (HAZWOPER).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Lift up to 30 lbs regularly; perform bending, reaching, and climbing as needed.
- Comfortable working in extreme temperatures (0°F to 120°F).
- Ability to work in noisy, dusty environments and wear PPE as required.
Work Environment
- Industrial plant setting (indoor/outdoor).
- Exposure to chemicals, noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
