Overview:
The Information Technology Services (ITS) Department at Auburn University at Montgomery is accepting applications for a Network Engineer.

- Administer, maintain and upgrade network equipment (e.g., software, hardware
and operating systems; support network software and hardware; monitor and
maintain routers, switches, hubs, firewalls and servers). -
Maintain network security and anti-virus software; perform system backups and
restorals; maintain software patches and licensing, etc. -
Plan, implement, upgrade and monitor security controls for the protection of AUM
computer networks and information systems. - Respond to computer security breaches and malware outbreaks.

Provide technical assistance in the selection, configuration, and maintenance of
network devices. -
Develop technical security standards to support policies including assisting in
creating and coordinating security monitoring standards and incident investigation
procedures. - Determine security violations and inefficiencies by conducting periodic audits.

Monitor and evaluate emerging and current technology and industry trends;
propose necessary changes to the network. - Research and recommend IT solutions to match changing business requirements
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or related area and experience equivalent to three (3) years of computer communications, network and software protocol experience.
