Duties
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on marine vessels to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using precision measuring instruments, schematics, and other diagnostic tools.
- Perform repairs on engines, electrical systems, and other critical components of marine vehicles.
- Assemble and install rigging systems as required for various marine applications.
- Utilize welding techniques to repair or fabricate parts as needed.
- Collaborate with service technicians to address complex mechanical problems efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed on each vessel.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their vessel's condition and necessary repairs.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in boat maintenance or as a mechanic, preferably in a marine environment.
- Familiarity with schematics and the ability to interpret technical drawings.
- Proficiency in using an ohmmeter and other precision measuring instruments for diagnostics.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in assembling and repairing marine equipment.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- A background in military service is a plus but not required.
- Commitment to safety protocols and best practices while working on marine vessels.
