Atzinger Gardens values your expertise and offers opportunities for professional growth, making it an excellent place to advance your career in horticulture.ResponsibilitiesLead and work alongside a team to maintain and improve residential gardens using best horticultural practices.Oversee daily gardening tasks, including weeding, pruning, fertilizing, mulching, planting, and diagnosing pest issues.Collaborate with the Head Gardener to adapt and enhance garden designs as needed.Identify plants, soil types, weeds, and pests, and recommend appropriate maintenance techniques.Organize project logistics, including materials, tools, and site setup.Supervise the safe application of pesticides, following integrated pest management (IPM) strategies.Maintain accurate records for job notes, material expenses, and invoicing.Communicate effectively with the Owner and Operations Manager regarding project progress and personnel needs.Recommend and implement improvements to gardening procedures and practices.Perform other related duties as assigned.QualificationsMinimum 2 years of experience in ornamental gardening, landscaping, or horticulture.Strong skills in plant identification, soil health assessment, and pest management.Experience leading, motivating, and directing a team.Excellent communication and organizational abilities.Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding outdoor work.Degree or certification in horticulture or a related field preferred but not required.Familiarity with integrated pest management (IPM) best practices preferred.Previous supervisory or crew lead experience in landscaping or gardening preferred.Compensation$18.00–$23.00 per hour, based on experience and skills.
