Production Forklift Operator

Location: Sterling Heights, MI 48314
Starting Pay: $17.50 per hour $1.50 per hour shift premium
Total Starting Rate: $19.00 per hour
Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 PM–2:30 AM

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Production Forklift Operator to support daily manufacturing and production operations. The successful candidate will safely operate a forklift, transport materials throughout the facility, supply production lines, and assist with the efficient movement of materials and finished products.

Candidates should be reliable, attentive to detail, and committed to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a forklift to transport raw materials, components, and finished products throughout the facility.
• Supply production lines with necessary materials to maintain workflow and minimize downtime.
• Move, load, unload, and stage materials in designated storage and production areas.
• Remove completed products and transport them to designated staging or storage locations.
• Verify material identification, quantities, and locations as required.
• Follow production schedules and established material handling procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Perform routine forklift inspections and report equipment issues or safety concerns.
• Follow company policies, workplace safety procedures, and applicable OSHA requirements.
• Communicate effectively with production personnel, supervisors, and team members.
• Perform additional production and material handling duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Previous forklift operating experience preferred.
• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced production environment.
• Strong attention to detail and awareness of surroundings.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as required by production needs.
• Ability to comply with company safety policies and forklift operating procedures.
• Must be able to successfully pass a national background check as a condition of employment.

Work Schedule

• Regular Shift: Monday through Friday, 6:00 PM–2:30 AM.
• Overtime: As needed to meet production demands.
• Weekends: Availability required depending on production needs.

Compensation and Benefits

• Starting Pay: $17.50 per hour.
• Shift Premium: Additional $1.50 per hour.
• Total Starting Rate: $19.00 per hour.

Work Environment
