Purchasing Assistant
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to support Manufacturing Operations during a critical transition period. This role plays a key part in coordinating production planning, ensuring material readiness, and supporting internal material flow to keep operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support production planning through Manufacturing Order coordination and updates
- Track materials, kits, and components to ensure timely delivery to production
- Assist in improving visibility into manufacturing cycle times through detailed order tracking
- Collaborate with planning, purchasing, inventory, and production teams to resolve material issues
- Monitor material readiness and escalate risks impacting schedules or deliveries
- Maintain and update spreadsheets, reports, and planning data
- Provide day-to-day administrative and coordination support to planning teams
- Assist with process improvements related to material flow and planning
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1–3 years of experience in manufacturing support, planning, material coordination, or purchasing
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and material flow
- Experience with ERP or manufacturing systems preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting production or material planners
- Familiarity with manufacturing orders, kits, and routings
- Background in aerospace, defense, or regulated manufacturing environments
- Experience supporting process improvements or organizational transitions
