Controls & Automation Engineer, Between $140,000-170,000 equity, Torrance

Controls & Automation Engineer sought for a fast-growth, tech for good sustainability scaleup near Hawthorne. This is a really exciting opportunity to work on aerospace grad tech that is supporting a more sustainable and "for good" future. We are looking for someone who can lead the design, development and deployment of automation systems in a high volume manufacturing environment.

As a Controls & Automation Engineer you will design and commission PLC based automation and test systems as well as develop controls architecture and automation strategies for manufacturing and product validation. The role involves building and supporting systems involving pumps, valves, fluid systems, sensors and industrial networks so experience with HMI interfaces and commissioning procedures is highly valuable.

This role is offering between 140-170K strong equity and many other benefits.

Skills sought:

• BS degree in Engineering, Physics, CS, Aerospace or other technical topic (ideal)
• 5 years of experience in industrial automation, controls engineering or factory automation
• Strong PLC programming and commissioning experience
• Confident working independently in a fast paced, high autonomy environment
• Automated manufacturing equipment, test systems or reliability testing

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with designing systems that prioritize operational safety, fault tolerance, and reliable equipment operation.
• Industrial communications and protocols (EtherCAT, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, Modbus, CAN, etc.).
