Director of Operations

Summary
Advanced Technology Systems Company (ATSC) is seeking a highly accomplished Senior Leader – Operations to lead and optimize operational performance across our Gilbert, AZ facility. This senior leader will drive operational excellence, establish scalable processes, and oversee daily execution in a complex, fast‑paced environment.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience managing multidisciplinary operations supporting advanced technology solutions, specifically within C6ISR, CUAS, Aerostats and Air Delivery Systems. This is a hands-on leadership position that requires strong cross-functional collaboration with site leadership, Engineering, Program Management, Business Development, Government agencies, Customers (CONUS/OCONUS), and suppliers. Final position level will be commensurate with the selected candidate’s professional experience, work history, and qualifications.

Essential Responsibilities
• Lead, develop, and refine operational systems and processes that ensure visibility, accountability, and execution of key business objectives.
• Partner closely with internal team leaders, government agencies, customers, and suppliers to support operational decisions aligned with enterprise strategy.
• Track and analyze operational metrics to ensure on-time, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of products and programs.
• Develop and implement strategies that support business growth, operational scalability, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure full compliance with company policies, industry regulations, quality standards, and all applicable laws.
• Drive a high-performance culture by collaborating with Human Resources to promote integrity, inclusivity, and employee engagement.
• Work with senior leadership to establish long-term operational goals and performance expectations.
• Increase operational efficiency through comprehensive process analysis and cross-functional coordination.
• Collaborate with Program Management to support the creation and execution of financial, schedule, and budget plans.
• Evaluate current operational performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
• Serve as a key interface for internal and external audits, including government and customer reviews.
Required Qualifications
• 10 years of senior leadership experience in operations within a related advanced technology or defense/homeland security industry environment.
• Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership capabilities demonstrated through a track record of operational success.
• Broad operational expertise across finance, production, customer service, supply-chain/vendor management, logistics, post-delivery support, field services, and workforce leadership.
• Proven ability to design, implement, and optimize operational processes for efficiency, speed, and adaptability. • Strong understanding of industry regulations, compliance requirements, and legal guidelines.
• Demonstrated success managing subcontractors and supplier performance.
• Technical familiarity with systems incorporating tactical radios, sensor (EO/IR and radar) systems, networking, computing/server platforms, and data links.
• Experience with government and customer audits.
• Proficiency with ERP systems.
• Knowledge of Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) or equivalent.
• Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a government security clearance.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
• Primarily office-based work environment.
• Regularly required to sit, stand, operate a computer, climb stairs, and communicate effectively.
• Must be able to lift 15–25 pounds.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Ability to travel, including potential OCONUS travel, as program needs require.
