Summary:
Advanced Technology Systems Company (ATSC) is seeking an Aerostat Field Service Representatives (FSRs)/Operators to join our growing team (in Gilbert, AZ or McLean, VA). This position requires FSRs/Operators for both CONUS and OCONUS duty location requirements. The Aerostat FSR/Operator role is responsible for operational readiness of Aerostats and Aerostat Ground Control Stations (GCS). FSR’s/Operators will be required to have the knowledge or related expertise in the operations, maintenance, and training, as well as knowledge and ability to perform a wide variety of field services such site surveys, equipment installs, and repair.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform a wide range of technician tasks to include: the use of standard mechanical and electrical hand tools and to be able to mechanically disassemble/assemble at user-level maintenance functions. This includes performing maintenance such as Preventive Maintenance Checks and Service (PMCS), troubleshooting, removing and replacing Line Replaceable Unit’s (LRU’s), and basic IT functions.
- Read and understand schematics, technical drawings and engineering data and reports.
- Perform wiring, soldering, operate standard and unique test equipment, fabricate aerostat lines, repair aerostat fabric, and handle high pressure helium tanks.
- Maintain troubleshoot and repair mechanical and aerostat structures hydraulic systems, fiber optic components, avionics, and electrical components.
- Be able to maintain, troubleshoot and repair ground support equipment i.e., generators communication and weather systems.
- Maintain and understand ATSC/site documentation i.e., parts request forms, timecards, and maintenance log.
- Operate general and special purpose vehicles to include forklift and manlift operations to a height of 150 feet.
- Instruct students during hands-on portions of training programs.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum on (1) year of qualified experience as a tower or aerostat FSR/Operator or minimum two (2) years’ experience in the following labor categories:
- Electrical maintenance
- IT (network administrator/installation)
- Mechanical maintenance on elevated sensor systems (i.e., Fixed tower, mobile platforms)
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Must have a valid US Passport and must have a current US driver's license.
- If prior US Military, must have an honorable discharge.
- Must be able to pass a detailed background investigation and possess the criteria to be awarded and maintain the necessary US-issued security clearance.
- DOD Secret Clearance required.
- Ability to travel to, and/or work in an austere, hostile, or remote location.
- Must be a US citizen.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, bend, kneel, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see.
- Must have the ability to lift 25-50 pounds.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English.
